It is important to understand that the meaning of success is different for everyone. Some people view it as the opposite of failure while others define it as the state of accomplishing and achieving a set of aims and objectives. It is common to say that people are usually successful when they have achieved a set of desired visions and goals that they have planned. But even then, for many people success can also be a kind of social status.
Everyone thinks differently about what it means to be successful. As such, there is no one definition that suits each individual. Brian Bonar, in his book The United States of Success, has described all of the experiences in his life that have helped develop his true understanding of what success is. Brian Bonar’s book is for all those who are trying to achieve their definition of success. According to him, his book is, “for the bruised, the broken, the hopeful, the hard workers, and most importantly, those that have a burning passion for doing something meaningful in their lives.” The United States of Success is for all those people who “fall outside the mold of the ‘perfect’ human being and are learning to get there day by day.” It is for all those people who are trying to discover what success is and are trying to define what success means to them in their lives.
It is only when you truly understand the meaning of success that you start taking steps to achieve it. Learning the meaning of success plays a vital part in eventually acquiring success. The true meaning of success surpasses all common notions and goes beyond all general understandings. People tend to reduce the meaning of success to ideas such as that of being wealthy, having money, and possessing degrees. However, this is not true because the meaning of success is quite the opposite. The true meaning of success in life cannot be measured according to the standards listed above and is instead measured with the number of people who are able to live a more advanced and better life because of what you have created. This is the true meaning of success and it doesn’t involve the collection of trophies. In simple words, success is all about living a happy life and making the world a better place for everyone.
It is important to have a solid compass in life when it comes to defining success. Even though the media says that success is all about having a life filled with luxury, or that it is all about your status and material possessions, this is not true. These are things that certainly bring pleasure, but in reality, this version of success resembles an abyss that continuously needs to be filled.
Even though Brian Bonar’s life was not all about victories and triumphs and he spent most of his childhood in an underprivileged house, nothing stopped him to persevere in search of the true meaning of success. He persevered on the path towards success and now he is the co-owner of sixty-four industries and is even the president of two industry-leading corporations.
